Chapter Information...
Help get your
sport noticed by the the Army Sports Office and the Military Sports
Association by getting a Chapter
established at your present location. The best place to integrate your
cycling activities is your local Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR)
Outdoor Recreation office. They can help immensely with publicity and
advertising.
A few great
men and women have strung together a couple of great road and mountain
military championships over the years, and it is time that military
cycling gets its just reward. During the 2002 season, a Military
category was included in the National Road Championship event in
Nashville, TN. USA Cycling hopes to expand this to include the
National Mountain Bike Championship as well.
The end state
of the vision is for Team Army-USAC
to be recognized by the Army Sports Office and Military Sports
Association with all eligible racers competing in an All-Military
Championship event (MTB, road, and cyclocross) annually with the best
qualified military cyclists competing in the World Military
Championships. There is also opportunity for the truly gifted Olympic
hopefuls to apply for the World Class Athletes Program in Colorado
Springs, CO.
The most
important thing you can do to be a part of progress is to establish
and/or join your local Chapter
of Team Army-USAC and keep
informed through our Yahoo Group list. You'll be able to post photos
and files, chat with other Army riders, and post races and rides on
the Team's calendar. After becoming a member, you'll have access to
our Uniform Order Form and be able to email the entire group through
the address:
